We love New Years here in Alaska because you can actually see the fireworks! (As opposed to the 4th of July. Plenty of people celebrate the 4th of July with fireworks but it’s not the same with the midnight sun lurking along the horizon.)
Best wishes for the New Year!

Great shots of the fireworks, I think the aurora borealis would be better to see, they’re like natual fireworks. Happy New Year to you guys, hope you have a safe and productive 2013.
natural fireworks, I like that!

Beautiful. Thanks for sharing the pretty shots. When you said you can actually see them, I was thinking of clear skies and summer fog. You had to remind me that you live in the land of the midnight sun. I have never been there, you know. Of course, I just needed a reminder.
Ken and KC were here to have venison serloin and wild rice and other stuff…pumpkin pie. It was quite nice. We even talked over some business.
God bless you both this year, and I’m sure he will after all the people you both made happy, fans too, when you made your long trek.
Love you both.

Your moving back to Minnesota has benefited KC and Dad in lots of ways, so thanks! And we had a fun visit. Hope everything is great down there. Happy New Year and be sure to plan a visit up here one of these days!
Great pics. Beautiful place. Wishing you all the best for the year ahead! Safe drivin’ mate.
We love reading about your adventures and looking at your photos. You have so much beauty around you, how lucky you are. The south of England is a nice place to live but besides cats and squirrels our wildlife isnt anywhere near as interesting. You make me want to come to Canada and the states with my hubby and son on a grand adventure.
Keep posting your tales and pics. Safe travels and happy days to you both.

Thanks for this all beautiful pictures. I live in France and we are watching Ice Road Truckers season 5. I looked all the previous seasons. I’m wondering: why we don’t see Jack in this season 5 ? Thank you again for your blog, I really like it. Continue to post incredible pictures of wonderful landscapes 🙂
